Introduction to the Prophet Muhammed (ﷺ)
The Prophet Muhammed (ﷺ) is the last messenger sent by Allah to guide humanity to the truth. Born in 570 AD in Mecca, in a society marked by idolatry and injustice, he was chosen by Allah to transmit the message of Islam: a call to the exclusive worship of Allah and the establishment of justice, mercy and brotherhood.
His nickname Al-Amin (the trustworthy one) reflects his noble character, even before the revelation. At the age of 40, he received the first divine revelation through the angel Jibril (Gabriel) in the cave of Hira, marking the beginning of his prophetic mission which lasted 23 years.
His life is a perfect example of humility, patience and wisdom, whether in his family relationships, in his political decisions or on the battlefield. Even today, his teaching and example inspire millions of people around the world.
May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
Origin and Historical Context
The Prophet Muhammed (ﷺ) was born in 570 in Mecca, a city in the heart of the Arabian Peninsula. At that time, society was marked by idolatry, social injustices and constant tribal wars. He belonged to a noble lineage, that of the Quraysh, and more precisely to the Banu Hashim clan.
Orphaned at a young age, he lost his father even before he was born, and his mother, Amina, when he was only 6 years old. Raised by his grandfather, then by his uncle Abu Talib, he grew up in a modest environment but surrounded by love. From an early age, Muhammed (ﷺ) was distinguished by his honesty and integrity, to the point of being nicknamed Al-Amin, the trustworthy.
The First Years
As a child, he was a shepherd, a simple occupation that, perhaps, forged his patience and his reflection. Later he became a merchant, known for his fair and transparent transactions. At the age of 25, he married Khadija (دضي الله عنها), a wealthy widow, who was impressed by his noble character. Their marriage was filled with mutual respect and love, and Khadija became his first and most faithful supporter.
