Prophet Muhammed (ﷺ) Part 2

The Beginning of the Revelation

Muhammed (ﷺ) used to retire to the cave of Hira, near Mecca, to meditate and seek the truth. It was there, at the age of 40, that he received his first revelation. The angel Jibril (Gabriel) appeared to him and asked him to read, although he could neither read nor write. This was the beginning of his prophetic mission. Upset by this experience, he returned home, where Khadija comforted and reassured him.

The Challenges in Mecca

When he began to preach Islam, calling for the oneness of Allah and the abandonment of idols, the leaders of Quraysh saw this as a threat to their power and their traditions. The Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions suffered insults, persecution and boycotts. Despite this, he remained firm in his mission, supported by an unshakable faith.

The Hegira: A New Beginning

Faced with increasing dangers, Allah ordered Muhammad (ﷺ) to leave Mecca for Medina. This trip, called the Hegira, marked a turning point in Islamic history. In Medina, he established a community where Muslims and non-Muslims coexisted peacefully.

The Years in Medina

The following years were marked by challenges and victories. The battles of Badr, Uhud and the Trench were difficult times, but they showed the faith and solidarity of the Muslims. The Prophet (ﷺ) showed remarkable wisdom by establishing peace agreements and uniting the tribes.

The Conquest of Mecca

Eight years after the Hegira, Muhammad (ﷺ) returned to Mecca, not as a conqueror eager for revenge, but as a merciful prophet. He forgave his former enemies and purified the Kaaba of idols, restoring the pure worship of Allah.

The Last Days

During his last pilgrimage, he addressed a moving message to the crowd gathered in Arafat: a reminder of equality between all human beings, justice and respect for rights. Shortly after, in 632, he left this world, leaving behind a perfect example for humanity.
